SUN
often hear people say that the Sun, the star around which orbits our planet is made of fire. In fact, this description what is in fact the sun is not very accurate. Seems to fire but is not.
Our sun and all stars, is composed of a state of matter called plasma. The plasma is like a soup of subatomic particles, ie particles smaller than atoms, unlike the fire that is just a very hot gas produced by a chemical reaction. In stars there is a chemical reaction, rather that there is something called nuclear fusion, a very violent which makes the other atoms are based producing and generating huge amounts of energy on the road.
These filaments coming out of the sun are called solar prominences. They are giant plasma jets emerging from the Sun and sometimes can have hundreds of thousands of kilometers long. The jets come from the Sun and are again attracted to the solar gravitational force creating these interesting space somersaults.
