The German government demanded that the Cuban authorities to clarify the circumstances of the death of dissident Juan Soto Wilfredo Garcia, after opposition sources said was beaten by the police.
"Information about the mistreatment they suffered Soto by the Cuban forces contradict the hope that there would be a enhance respect for human rights on the island", reads a statement by the German Foreign Ministry.
The note, signed by the deputy minister, Werner Hoyer, stressed that the federal government requires the Cuban Government to fully clarify the conditions that led to the death of the opponent.
